POSSIBILITIES ECO-VOLONTEERING IN THE REGION

Abstract

The history of volunteer activity and its formation in Russia, its possibilities and kinds are considered in the article. Special attention is paid to present environmental problems. Ecological volunteering is one of the most interesting and accessible kind of volunteer activity which became especially popular in Russia in the year of ecology and it does not lose its urgency for today. Eco-volunteers work with the reserves and organizations engaged in protection of nature. They help with cleaning and arrangement of territories of the reserves, carrying out the researches and many other things. Eco-volunteers take part in various community work days and watch the cleanliness of the city, district and court yards. The work with the population is not less prominent aspect of their activity. Volunteers teach people how to live in harmony with the nature, tell about ecological actions or about correct garbage recycling. The practical part of the work is sociological research carried out on the territory of Orel region, to revealing the attitude of the population to the environmental problems of the region.
