FEATURES OF SAFE INTERNET IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Modern Internet is not only the unique information environment, but also a source of many threats. The greatest danger from them is represented by the various malicious software: viruses, advertising and spy programs. In the article the features of safe Internet in educational institutions are presented. While working I defined the necessity of IT use in educational process, found out the features of independent fulfilment of training-informative tasks with the help of the Internet. Special software of proxy-server with integrated antivirus is considered in detail. Besides, the problem of choice of a suitable product, its installation (namely programs UserGate) and work adjustment are studied. UserGate Server, installation of working parametres of DNS service (Domain Name System - system of domain names), adjustment of such workstations as browsers and e-mails are described. Advantages an educational institution have having installed these programs are described. It was defined that to provide joint Internet connection of all computers of the local network through the entire external channel it is necessary to use special software - proxy-server. There are three types of advantages of the system implementation. It was found out how to achieve real use of the Internet by the teachers and students having provided joint access from several workplaces.
