Abstract

The purpose of the article is to investigate the features, factors of formation and the problems of competitive advantages development of the region. The article deals with the issues of competitiveness essence of the region, the relevance and significance of the formation and development of competitive advantages of the regional economic system. The necessity of constant monitoring of the level of competitiveness of the region and its competitive advantages, the expediency of taking into account its rating in the national economy in terms of socio-economic development, life quality of the population, investment attractiveness, efficiency of using the economic potential of the territory and other factors are especially emphasized. life The formation and development of competitive advantages is considered on the example of Kursk region. The features and factors that ensure competitive advantages of Kursk region as one of the regions of Russia, trends in the dynamics of the main socio-economic indicators that demonstrate the effectiveness of using the potential, the level of development of the regional economic system and its place in the national economy are highlighted. The problems and threats of socio-economic nature that hinder the development of competitive advantages are identified. The estimated conclusions are made about the necessity of constant development of competitive advantages of the region, taking into account the existing opportunities of the territory. The scientific novelty of the article is in the identified features of competitive advantages formation of a particular region. They are a combination of natural, economic, social, environmental factors that determine its investment attractiveness. Besides, identified problems that hinder the development of competitive advantages and the proposed ways to solve them are also of importance. The theoretical significance of the conducted research is in the development of theoretical provisions concerning formation and development of competitive advantages of the region. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of using its results by regional authorities in the development of regional policy and strategic directions of development, both in Kursk region and in other regions of Russia. Since the peculiarities of formation of their competitive advantages, a number of identified trends, proportions, problems that hinder the development of competitive advantages are of a general nature despite the significant differentiation of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
