LOCAL GOVERNMENT REFORMATION IN RUSSIA UNDER MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract

Under modern conditions the choice of the most effective forms of local government for our country is of great importance. Present and future of the country depends on it as it is the local government in which there is a potential capable to overcome many crisis phenomena in the life of Russian society and to give it additional stimulus for development. It is the local government that relies directly on the initiative and activity of the citizens in the solution of social and economic, political, demographic and environmental problems actual for certain territory. In the article the basic directions of local government reformation are considered. They are introduction of legislative system of local government; assigning the subjects of introduction to municipalities; financial provision of powers of the authorities at each level.
